Stage adaptation of the follow up novel to TRAINSPOTTING. Set 20 years after TRAINSPOTTING, what has become of RENTON, SICKBOY, SPUD & BEGBIE?
The WEST END SMASH HIT is coming to Stirling. A must see for all Irvine Welsh fans.
Contains swearing, drug use, language of a sexual nature and hysterical shenanigans. As if you’d expect anything else!
Adapted by Davie Carswell, the writer of The TOMMY BURNS Story and Glasgow Kiss.
PORNO started with sold out run at the Pleasance as part of the Edinburgh Fringe ’22.
Since then it’s gone on to have multiple sold out runs at the King’s in Glasgow, a UK tour including the Liverpool Olympia, the Crewe Lyceum, the Manchester Waterside, a seven week sold out run at the Art’s Theatre in London’s West End (where it was nominated as best new play in the What’s On Stage Awards) and a sold out run at the Leith Theatre.
REVIEWS
Irvine Welsh – Porno at the Arts Theatre in Leicester Square is very good. It’s very good indeed. In fact it’s fucking great. I urge you to see it.”
“It’s difficult to imagine anyone but Robert Carlyle taking on the role of psychopath Begbie, but Chris Gavin is a worthy successor” – Natlie O’Donoghue – Broadway World
“The characterisation of Welsh’s cast of crazy personas is phenomenal. Jenni Duffy’s Lizzie is salacious but brings the heart where it is needed when she delves into the dark hole of body image problems” – James Robertson – The Reviews Hub London
“Tom Carter’s racist, homophobic police constable Knox is an ironic delight, while his daughter Lizzie, played by Jenni Duffy with a carnal gusto that puts the men to shame, is quite something to watch.” – Jonathan Evans – The Spy In The Stalls
